Rooms and Suites,
Hard Rock Punta Cana is huge, and so are the rooms. Even the standard suites are spacious, with two-person spa baths right in the room (kids think this is wild fun). Families can book two-bedroom suites or request connecting rooms, The décor is rock-star glam – lots of mirrors, bold colours, and a touch of kitsch – but the space and comfort make it work for families. There are Multiple different room options, from a smaller Caribbean suite right up to a Rock suite sand with personal assistant. some have pool views whilst others have sea views or garden Views.
We stayed in a Rock Family Suite with one bedroom, accommodating up to 6 guests (Adults and/or children), with a maximum of 3 adults. Upon entering the room, you are greeted by a hallway that leads to a bathroom on the left, followed by a dining area featuring a mini bar filled with beer, soft drinks, and water. A few steps down, you'll find the living area equipped with a double sofa bed, TV, and patio doors opening to a spacious balcony that runs the length of the suite, offering ample space for lounging or dining, along with a hydro spa tub. The other end of the balcony connects via more patio doors to a second living area with another sofa bed, and a couple of steps lead up to the main bedroom area, which boasts a large king-size bed and TV. The suite includes two bathrooms with showers, toilets, and a twin basin the main bathroom single in the second bathroom. The main bathroom off the bedroom is the largest we've ever experienced, featuring a spacious shower with a bench seat and a washing line for swimwear after pool days. Additional amenities include a walk-in wardrobe with hanging space, drawers, a mini safe, an ironing board with iron, and an umbrella. We also had two bathrobes and two pairs of slippers. This was a fantastic room, and with six occupants, we never felt too small.
This room was located in block 3, it was conveniently close to the lobby and buffet restaurant along with more restaurant's and bars, though it was a 10-15 minute walk to the main pools by the beach. However, there were a couple of pools just a 5-minute walk away. We had a great view over looking one of the gardens with a lake, where you could see large fish, Terrapins swimming and lots of different species of birds.

Food and Drink,
Being all-inclusive, you can eat and drink pretty much 24/7. There are nine restaurants and also lots of day time options too.
We enjoyed the BBQ on the beach and Burgers from the pool side food truck during the day, there are food options dotted around so don't just think you have to go to the main building to eat.

Toro steak house overlooks the moon pool and beach and is a BOOK EARLY must as it gets filled up super quick! and so it should as the food is lovely.
Ipanema (our Favourite) is a Brazilian buffet restaurant where they bring round skewers of different meats until you can't eat any more.
We ate most evenings in the main Market Buffet restaurant which had a good selection of foods for all tastes.
The variety is great, the buffets cover kid-pleasers (pasta, burgers, pizza) as well as healthier options, and the dessert stations are always a hit.

In the evening there are food carts dotted around the main building serving Nacho's, Crepes and Churros, there is also an Ice cream parlour open all day and evening.
There are bars at all the pools some of them even swim up so you don't have to get out of the pool, as well as server's taking orders from your sun loungers or whilst you are taking a dip in the pool playing with your children.
You will find a lovely cocktail van on the beach just up from the children's pool area, then a little further down the beach is the Tiki bar, which was great for Cocktails and sheltering under if it started to rain.
In the main building is the Bowling Bar, Moon Lounge and the outdoor eclipse terrace with live music, shows and a DJ at the end of the night. There is also a small Bar in the show theatre.
Inside the Adult only Casino area is the Nightclub and sports bar.

Activities and Entertainment,
Rockaway Bay Water Park
The Water Park is Great, you can get to it by going to the far end of the lobby area near the casino, then take the stairs down and follow the pathway to the right past the evening show theatre.
It features 26 water slides in total, 9 for Teens and Adults, 8 child Friendly slides some even smaller slides for toddlers a toddler splash pool swimming pool with swim up bar, a toddler splash zone, along with a food truck serving burgers and hotdogs etc and a shop at the entrance. Make sure to get there early if you would like an umbrella over your sun loungers as there are not enough for all sunbeds, the towels are supplied whilst there and the towel hut is based around by the toddler pool area.
The water park is open 10am till 6pm
The food truck is open 12pm till 6pm
and a wet/dry bar situated at the main swimming pool.
It is all included in your stay.
All children must be accompanied by an adult whilst attending the water park.

Mini Golf
This Mini golf course was so much fun,
We decided on the first night that we were going to pay the extra to have unlimited use during our stay, we played every single night and had our own boys v girls tournament.

There are 18 holes and most of those are surrounded by water but in the event that your ball went into the water they did have ball scoops dotted around so you could retrieve them.

It is open from 3pm till 10:45pm, we normally played after diner before the main show as it wasn't to far to walk from there.

It was 10$ pp for one go or unlimited plays during your stay for 30$ pp

Pools
So there are 13 pools in total,
-
Eden pool is adults only
-
Isla pool and Sun pool are for Hard rock Legendary Club members only
-
1 is a family pool area with 3 separate sections, some slides and a swim up bar
-
1 is the lazy river (open from 10am)
So really for general use you have 8 pools
three are in the centre of the resorts Beach area and are all based around the main entertainment area which are the Woodstock pool, eclipse pool and the central pool, so if you like to join in with games and be a part of the action then these three pools are for you.
You also have the other scale of things with nice quiet pools which are the Bongo's pool and the Sax Pool both are infinity pools that over look the river running through the resort where you can see lots of terrapins and fish swimming bellow you.
Either side of the central pool is the Drum's pool and Guitar pool these have hot tub type area's around the edge and water polo nets in the middle and both have swim up bars.

And last is our Favourite pool the Moon pool it was never too busy so kids had space to play ball games it was right next to the beach, there was also a bar close by along with the towel hut and toilets. a short walk away down the beach was the burger van Tiki Bar and a shop also a little spa for if you wanted to get your hair braided or some other treatments
All pools seemed to be 1.2M deep but most pools also had a shallow shelf for toddlers to play on or to place a sun lounger in the water.

You can use inflatables in any of the pools we even took an inflatable table and waterproof Uno cards to play in the pool which was great fun, This is a link to the table and cards.

Golf
We didn't play golf whilst we were there but my husband and son's did visit the golf shop to have a look around as they do play in the UK.

Casino
The Hard Rock Punta Cana casino is one of the biggest in the Caribbean, with over 370 slot machines ranging from penny slots and video poker to high-limit favourites.
You’ll also find 35+ live table games – blackjack, roulette, baccarat – all run by friendly dealers with limits to suit every style of play. Poker fans can head to the dedicated Poker Room, open nightly from 6PM to 4AM, for Texas Hold’em and plenty of lively competition. Whether you’re a casual gamer or a seasoned pro, it’s a full-on Vegas vibe right by the beach.

Getting Around,
This resort is massive. Think small city rather than hotel complex. Getting from your room to the beach or main restaurants can be a trek, but you can rent golf carts for your entire stay and shuttles run constantly to ferry guests around the resort.
It takes a day or two to get your bearings, but once you do, the scale becomes part of the fun – there’s always something new to stumble upon, we only discovered the Basket ball court area on our last day.

Final Thoughts,
The Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana is a vibrant and destination right by the beach. It’s lively and bustling, making it not the best choice for those seeking a quiet Caribbean escape. However, for families looking for excitement, spacious accommodations, and plenty of activities, it’s an outstanding option. Your kids will have lasting memories of the pools, shows, and giant bath tub in the room. Just be sure to pack your walking shoes, or embrace the golf carts and lean into the rock-star vibes!
